The World Climate Action Summit gathers heads of state and government, visionary industry leaders, civil society, youth, and Indigenous Peoples' representatives for cross-sector teamwork and discussions on climate solutions. UAE COP28 was the first ever to put food and farming center-stage, as 134 world leaders committed to cut food system emissions, future-proof farm yields, and scale agricultural innovation.
The UAE committed $30 billion to steer private money to the Global South, under ALTÉRRA, the world’s biggest private climate action fund.
The UAE opened the World Climate Action Summit, attended by more than 165 heads of state and government.
Britain’s King Charles III told the Summit: “In 2050, our grandchildren won't be asking what we said, they will be living with the consequences of what we did or didn't do,”

On 1 and 2 December, 176 world leaders gathered for the World Climate Action Summit (WCAS), signaling a new era of climate action on the road to 2030.
In a complex world, the WCAS provided an opportunity for the international community to unite behind a shared commitment for more expansive and urgent climate action in response to the Paris Agreement’s first Global Stocktake.

Three High-Level events (on Adaptation, Means of Implementation and Mitigation respectively) were held on the 1st and 2nd December 2023, chaired by the first global stocktake (GST) High-Level Committee (HLC), consisting of the COP 27 and COP 28 Presidencies of the CMA, and the Chairs of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI).
